Road to Victory Rally, Governor Palin in Chillicothe Ohio

An estimated 5000 people came out to the Ross County Courthouse in Chillicothe to see and hear Governor Sarah Palin. We arrived around 12:30 and the line to pass through the metal detectors was about 400 people long.

Once we received instructions from one of the secret service officers we were off to one of the security lines. I had to turn my camera and phone on, then after surrendering them to a security officer I passed through the metal detector.

Prior to Governor Palin's address we heard from a few local and state republicans imploring the crowd to support their bid for office and to elect John McCain the next president of the United States.
But the most honest and heartwarming testimony came from Colonel Tom Moe (above), a former POW who served with Senator McCain. Pointing out once again, the readiness of John McCain to lead this nation. Reassuring the crowd that John McCain is the one we need in the White House if an American president is going to be tested.

The above placards were signed by "Alaska's First Dude" Todd Palin.

Governor Palin acknowledging "Mark the stir-fry chef" and his friends.

The secret service could be seen on the rooftops all around the courthouse.

When Governor Palin finished her speech she exited the stage to "press the flesh" and sign autographs as did the "First Dude".

Now this photo shows you how close Nick was to the governor. The red arm you see there with the placards is Nick and just below his hand you can see the top of Sarah Palin's head. But alas, the SS moved her along quickly and she didn't grab the signs.

These two little ones caught the governors eye and she asked the secret service to take their picture and get their signs so she could autograph them for the girls.

No, this isn't a HOT secret service guy, it's the First Dude.

Ooh, how exciting! I didn't know you had to buy tickets to attend a rally, I thought you just show up.

Even though I think she's a rubbish novelty candidate, I still reckon that if I got that close to Sarah Palin I'd squeal girlishly anyway.

Todd Palin is hot, yes, but "first dude"? We already know he's a redneck, we don't need it confirmed like that.

Hi Jacob, it's nice to hear from you.

Rally tickets are free, who said I paid for them? You need a ticket to enter the event.

We were about 20-30 feet from the front of the platform, it looks a lot closer because I used my zoom-lens to get the pictures.

Oh Jacob come on, Todd is the "First Dude" of Alaska. And the last time I checked Alaska is just a bit north of "red-neck" country here in America.

I'm sorry you're not as informed as you'd like to be about BHO. Then again even the liberal media (NYT) on the campaign trail with him have said they don't really know the dem candidate. The polls are tightening and "The One" talks a good game but at the end of the day he's got nothing, an empty suit.

Great photos! Looks like it was a chilly day.

How exciting for you!!!

The crowd was really excited to see her. It was a great rally.

It was in the middle 40's, not that chilly for Ohio at the end of October.

There were so many people the wind wasn't making it's way through the crowd. Only my toes were cold.

I took a total of 83 pictures, 75 were of the VP candidate.

Wow, looks like you had a good time! I would like to to have been able to hear Palin speak, but I think that time for me has passed. Palin has been in Indiana several times, but never all that close by.

I especially like the picture of the two little girls. Nice of Sarah to acknowledge them.

Great Post!

Great Pictures!

What?

Anyway, whatever. I did see a rather hilarious post elsewhere that a large number of people in the crowd at that particular rally were sporting "Clean Coal" caps which were being handed out. Product placement for Palin, woO!

Jacob, the clean coal hats and T's were not being handed out as a product placement for Governor Palin. There were whole families, standing in line with me, wearing them because they work in the industry in southern Ohio.

I'm sure you heard about the 3 reporters who were kicked off the Obama plane because their newspapers endorsed McCain. That's how we expect him to govern if, God forbid, he's elected.

Also, the "First Dude" moniker was given to Todd when Sarah was elected governor.

I would like to ask what you, as an Australian, think a "red-neck" is? Can you define it for me and do you have any "red-necks" living down-under?

Also Jacob, do you really understand the global impact BHO will have if he's elected? And can you tell me how he's more qualified than McCain, Biden or Palin?

BHO is nothing more than a socialist and an America hater.

Deleted my comment because I didn't really like what I said, and because I don't feel like arguing anymore.

Good luck on Tuesday. I think Barack Hussein Obama will win, but good luck nonetheless.
