Turkey welcomes the Pope

Yes, Turkey is a fine example of a "secular" islamic state. At the last minute, a visit to the Blue Mosque, was added to the itinerary. The first step toward papal dhimmitude, following the rest of Europe into the abyss.

Sorry, had to interject here with this one.

Turkey is a secular state. It also has a lot of Muslims. The purpose of a secular system is not to prevent or inhibit religious expression but to keep itself completely separate from it. The fact that the Pope was allowed to visit Turkey, and that Muslims in Turkey were allowed to voice their objections to what he represents, proves that Turkey is a free country.

PS. thanks for linking to my site, Janice. Not sure if your readership wants to hear about Australian Idol, but the gesture meant a lot to me. ;)

I noted the sign.

If Jesus is a prophet of Islam... shouldn't Islam be more peaceful and loving?

Even if Mohammed is the greater prophet, Jesus was a Jew... and I just don't see many of Jesus' teachings incorporated into Islam.

Jacob,

Turkey is a secular state, but for how long?

I posted the picture because of the sign, as Chris noted. The fact that you mentioned he was "allowed" to enter Turkey seems queer (no pun intended). As far as muslims being "allowed" to voice their objections. Why then did cartoonist get death threats for voicing the opinions. Why aren't they "allowed" to voice their opinions? Because it's offensive? These protesters and their signs are offensive to me!

PS. I was happy to link you to my site Jacob. It makes it easier for me to see what you're doing. I've yet to jump into the conversation.

Stay with me,
My love I hope youll always be
Right here by my side if ever I need you
Oh my love

In your arms,
I feel so safe and so secure
Everyday is such a perfect day to spend
Alone with you

I will follow you will you follow me
All the days and nights that we know will be
I will stay with you will you stay with me
Just one single tear in each passing year

With the dark,
Oh I see so very clearly now
All my fears are drifting by me so slowly now
Fading away

I can say
The night is long but you are here
Close at hand, oh Im better for the smile you give
And while I live

I will follow you will you follow me
All the days and nights that we know will be
I will stay with you will you stay with me
Just one single tear in each passing year there will be

I will follow you will you follow me
All the days and nights that we know will be
I will stay with you will you stay with me
Just one single tear in each passing year...
