NY "madrassa" UPDATE

School will soon recess for the summer and administrators will evaluate challenges of the past year. And the controversial Khalil Gibran International Academy in New York was not without tribulations.

From its inception controversy surrounded the institution and critics closely scrutinized everything from board members and staff to the halal cafeteria. Attempts to recruit arab students fell flat with only 20% of the 67 students of arabic heritage and 9 students leaving before the end of the inaugural school year.

Supporters claim the negative attributes assigned to the madrassa have been the result of the post 9/11 hysteria. This assertion, perceived by muslims in America, of increasing racism not a lack of assimilation and the islamic separatist mentality.

In a whine-o-gram issued yesterday, CAIR intimates the current allegations of violence stem from this post 9/11 climate. Fighting, teacher abuse and weapons violations are rampant in the 58 student institution with muslims being the target.

In classic CAIR fashion, the cloak of victim hood covers the entire report. The NY Times article reveals the whole story. It's a 6 (web) page article and covers most of the saga from the beginning.

Happy Earth Day!

I’m so embarrassed and I must confess, in 1992 I attended an “Earth Day” celebration. But I have a good reason, I promise.

My sister-in-law and I packed up our children and headed down to the Cleveland Metroparks Zoo. Admission was free and every attendant received a free sapling to plant.

Now, I’m not a tree hugging environmentalist. We recycle aluminum, brass and copper. The prices of these materials have been on the rise and who couldn’t use the extra cash? I don’t toss garbage out the car window and I have been known to pick up trash left over from the refuse truck in front of my house. I believe we all need to be good stewards of the earth to which we’ve been given dominion.

On the flip side, we own 2 gas guzzling sports cars and recently traded our 8 cylinder Jeep Grand Cherokee in on a 4 cylinder Dodge Caliber. I want to continue to have the freedom to decide what I drive.

But this trip to the Earth Day observance wasn’t because it was free or the tree give-away. No, it was for purely selfish reasons. Sheryl Crow and Four Non-Blonde's were performing FOR FREE in the zoo amphitheater!

I did feel compelled to "donate" to some cause and got the button you see above. I didn't notice until we got home that it was from the year before. I should have known those hemp clad, dread-lock wearing barefoot hippies were gonna scam me some how.

As you can see, my son was not very happy to be there. However Carolyn and I needed to have the children accompanying us lest we be mistaken for “Lilith fare” leftovers. And I must say, having the kids around cut down on the same-sex pick-up attempts.

And finally we have a much younger Janice, sitting on the amphitheater hill waiting for the concert to begin. Don't you just love those Sally Jesse Rafael glasses?

So that's my one and only adventure into environmental-wacko land.

Representative Sue Myrick is on to something...

Just when you begin to think the folks we elect to government office need to “be about the peoples business” someone steps up to the plate. Representative Sue Myrick (R-NC) is one of the few who actually get it.

Last week Myrick called for the revocation of Jimmah’s passport saying; “Former President Carter has acted in contradiction of international agreements to isolate Hamas. He has acted in defiance of both United States policy and international policy. His actions reward terrorists, lend support, and provide legitimacy to their belief that violence will eventually get them what they want,”.

Now Rep Myrick wants America to “wake up” and is taking on CAIR. On Friday the Charlotte republican released a list of 10 items she hopes will help peel back the layers on how radical elements of islam might be infiltrating the military, school rooms and other elements of society.
Among her goals is to investigate muslim military and prison chaplains who were approved by a man now in prison for funding terrorism, and examine the nonprofit status of an organization partially funded by Saudis.
That group, the Council on American-Islamic Relations, says her assumptions are wrong and agendas like hers move muslim bashing into the mainstream.

Myrick's 10-point plan includes:

Investigate all military chaplains endorsed by Abdurahman Alamoudi, who was imprisoned for funding a terrorist organization.

Investigate all prison chaplains endorsed by Alamoudi.

Investigate the selection process of Arabic translators working for the Pentagon and the FBI.

Examine the nonprofit status of the Council on American-Islamic Relations.

Make it an act of sedition or solicitation of treason to preach or publish materials that call for the deaths of Americans.

Audit sovereign wealth funds in the United States.

Cancel scholarship student visa program with Saudi Arabia until they reform their textbooks, which she claims preach hatred and violence against non-Muslims.

Restrict religious visas for imams who come from countries that don't allow reciprocal visits by non-Muslim clergy.

Cancel contracts to train Saudi police and security in U.S. counterterrorism tactics.

Block the sale of sensitive military munitions to Saudi Arabia.

It sounds to me like Myrick is on to something, it's to bad her liberal counterparts will shout her down and send the proposal to the trash bin.

The ummah is whining, Pontiff snubs private meeting

The Papal visit to America is and should be an awakening to this nations 77 million Catholics. However in true muslim fashion, the RoP believe the Holy See should meet islamic leaders and capitulate to their will.

Grudge embracement seems to be a staple in the ummah. And the Pontiff is not immune to muslim ire. Little has been reported regarding the Muslim Public Affairs Council, the Figh Council of North America and other muslims who declined the interreligious invitation. It appears these "special" people felt rebuffed when a separate meeting wasn’t scheduled.

The snub notwithstanding, the ummah is still upset when the pope quoted a 14th century Byzantine emperor connecting islam with violence. Never mind the violence that erupted following the statement, proof positive muslims have an inherent tendency to be aggressive, sadistic and cruel.

The icing on the baklava was the “in your face” baptism of a former muslim. Many muslims said the Pontiff insulted them when Magdi Allam, an Egyptian-born commentator who has criticized the "inherent" violence in islam, was baptized on Easter Sunday in St. Peter's Basilica.

Islamic leaders said the prominence of the ceremony, not the conversion itself, was troubling. The ummah constantly insist we non-muslims educate ourselves in the ways of islam. Well, it appears they too need to be educated. For Catholics, the baptism, first Holy Communion and confirmation process is an important step in ones spiritual life, one of great prominence. And I’m sure it was the conversion that perturbed those islamic leaders, not the pomp and circumstance that the ceremony brings.

CAIR action alert 538

The convicted terror supporter, Sami al-Arian, has been put in solitary confinement. According to the “free sami al-arian” website,

At 1am on Saturday, Dr. Sami Al-Arian was moved by hostile prison guards from a regular holding cell at the Howard County Detention Center in Jessup, Maryland, to the "Special Housing Unit." The SHU is an extremely punitive and restrictive section of the prison where inmates are placed in solitary confinement 23 hours a day, usually in freezing temperatures. Prisoners are normally moved there for violating prison rules. However, in the case of Dr. Al-Arian, he has always been placed there without reason or any explanation. In the SHU, prisoners are subjected to continuous, deafening alarm sounds and have little contact with the outside world. With no medical supervision, this is an extremely dangerous place for Dr. Al-Arian to be during his hunger strike, which is on its 41st day.

The treatment described is obviously misleading and fallacious. If you ever watched “Lock-up”, “Lock-up Raw” or “Lock-up Extended Stay” you’d know the SHU or secure housing unit is for the protection of the detainee and staff. It’s not “Papillon” or “Midnight Express”.

In true CAIR fashion, an action alert was issued commanding the faithful to express their outrage. Letters, faxes and emails conveying their indignation regarding the inhumane treatment of the terror supporter. And as always, be polite in your correspondence.

I think we should start our own campaign, "The Keep Sami in the Hole" crusade. Or Operation; Deportation on Demand.

Yes, I'm going to use the contact info provided by CAIR to express my outrage. The $5956.00 check I mailed yesterday to pay my taxes are being used to sustain this terrorist.

Deport Sami, who's with me?

One more reason I'm going to visit Israel...

Midnight at the Casino Oasis in Jericho!

A long time dream of mine has been to visit the State of Israel. Two years ago when my "mad money" account reached the one traveler total, I didn't look forward at how much more I needed to squirrel away, but rather how far I'd come. It's not a cheap trip and many times I wanted to tap into it and shuttle off to Vegas (my most favorite place in the world besides Cape Hatteras Island, NC.) or make an impulse purchase. But the thought of Israel always prevailed.

Now I’m not talking about a week or ten day trip, with a whirlwind tour of sites that appeal to Jews or Christians. Nope, I want to stay at least fourteen to eighteen days and see it all. I want to be baptized in the River Jordan, swim in the Dead Sea, cruise the Galilee and stay in a kibbutz a day or two. I want to pray at the Western Wall and walk the streets of the old city of Jerusalem. Visit the Shrine of the Book and Yad Vashem museums. I want to stand on the Mount of Olives in awe of the city of God. But most (and expensive) of all I’m flying El Al, the safest airline in the world. If I'm going to spend all this money I want to make sure I have the best shot at making it in one piece, right. This kinda makes me rethink the idea of filling water bottles with Dead Sea and Jordan River water. To be on the safe side I’ll probably just buy it and contribute a few more Shekels to the Israeli economy. Since 9/11 Nick has a tendency to be pulled aside for extra scrutiny. His surname is clearly Italian, but he looks like a clean shaven arab.

My desire to visit the Holy Land has always sparked disapproval from friends and relatives alike. Protests notwithstanding, I’m going to Israel. Despite objections from Nick and my sister in-law, who used to claim I’d be going alone. That was until I had enough saved for one of us to go and I promised to bring Carolyn Dead Sea salts, mud and water. I also feel more confident in my personal security because I’m a student of Krav Maga. Just as long as I don’t wander off to the Temple Mount and express my disdain for the dome of the rock, I should be OK.

But I digress. With all the holy sites to visit and experience (and it’s not on any of the tour schedules I’ve seen) there’s a casino in Jericho! Can you believe it? While perusing an article in the Israel National News, the magic word jumped out at me C.A.S.I.N.O. And they speak English! Oh what a great adventure this is going to be, however, I’m gonna need a few more Shekels for the slots and roulette table and add two more days to my tour.

Security has been in the hands of the palestinians, however there’s been talks of transferring the task to the Israelis. The bloodthirsty terrorists realize business has all but stopped since the intifada. This may be the safest place in all of Israel because those pious muslims don’t engage in gambling. It’s the sleeper cell dealers and housekeepers we’ll have to watch out for. But in all sincerity, it all comes down to this; these arabs want to make money. The casino pays well above the average wage and they know the gaming hall is a gold mine. Restaurants, shops, farmers and other businesses have been hurt by the lack of tourism to the West Bank resort.

sharia investment funds support jihad

A National Review Online article explains how sharia compliant investments support terrorism. Simply, muslims are called to fight jihad against the non-believers. If a physical engagement is not possible, the faithful can financially fund the cause. That’s where these halal investments come in. The profits are given away to charity and I’m sure the Salvation Army is not on the list.

Nefarious individuals are appointed to be advisors, collecting salaries and directing the profits.

Consider the board chairman of the Dow Jones Islamic Index (IMANX), one Mufti Taqi Usmani. Mr. Usmani is widely reputed to be one of the world’s top experts on sharia finance. Whatever his stockpicking abilities may be, they are dwarfed by his jihadist credentials. A key executive of Pakistan’s prominent Deobandi jihadist factory, the madrassa Darul Karoom Karachi (currently headed by his brother, Rafi Usmani), Taqi Usmani has openly advocated jihad by Muslims in the West, and just last month again publicly endorsed suicide bombing and the Taliban.

IMANX itself is owned and operated by the North American Islamic Trust (NAIT), an organization listed as an un-indicted co-conspirator by the Department of Justice in a recent terrorism-finance trial, and the proprietor of hundreds of radical mosques and Islamic institutions in the U.S., including some that have been closed down by the government as criminal enterprises.

The chairman of both NAIT and IMANX, Bassam Osman, has been the top executive of terrorist-funding organizations like the Quranic Literacy Institute (suspected financiers of Hamas whose assets were seized by the U.S. in 1998) and the Islamic Academy of Florida (founded by Sami al-Arian, a convicted financier of Palestinian Islamic Jihad, a terrorist criminal enterprise), and is a board member of other un-indicted co-conspirators like the Islamic Society of North America (ISNA).

The IMANX and NAIT are two such funds. If this issue isn't brought under the watchful eye of the treasury department and SEC, according to Alexev, this sharia fund boom could make the current sub-prime mortage quandary look like a Sunday school picnic.

CAIR Bears, The Movie

This video was shamelessly lifted from my twinsters blog, Dinah Lord.

It's a catchy little tune and I think Vermont Teddy Bears may consider adding these cute bears to their catalog. Though I'm not a teddy bear collector there are a few I would purchase. My favorites include the burka bear, the arafish (my pet name for yasser arafat) and the club gitmo bear. Check out The Rude News line-up of SICOS bears.

Do you have any favs?

Rod Parsley draws CAIR fire

I’d seen the advertisements on cable and thought the event sounded interesting. Though I don’t care for the “mega-church” approach to worship, this upcoming eschatology program appears intriguing. Especially now that I know CAIR officials scrutinize the content.

Rod Parsley and the World Harvest Church came under fire in the April 1st whine-o-gram for remarks that CAIR deemed “threatening” to islam. Calling islam a false religion and allah a demon spirit were pointed out as well as this crazy notion that muslims are bent on world conquest.

Columbus’ own Abukar Arman opined to al-Jazeera saying, "It has a psychological toll on Muslims in central Ohio and beyond, that you are not part of the society that America was founded, in his words, to obliterate Islam," and McCain should distance himself from Parsley. "In the grand scale of things," Arman says, "it hurts even the national security of this country because it fuels anti-Americanism."

Patrick Poole at COAT and Front Page Mag has a lot of interesting stuff on Arman like this little nugget.

Crazy muslim child abuse....

Bush dead and the White House is a mosque, according to hamas children's program. But, it's all good because the American people have submitted to the will of the RoP.

Those crazy muslims in Gaza have been busy creating violent kiddy programs. The latest creation is a puppet show where a palestinian child breaks into the White House to murder President Bush.

Israel National News is reporting on the recent step toward promoting peace by hamas and granting credence to the Geert Wilders film, “Fitna”, islam promotes violence.

MEMRI has the clip and translation.

It’s child abuse….
