What should I feel?

All my loyal readers know my friend has been going through a tough time. I'm not going to rehash the details of her husbands affair or the pain she feels from the discovery. The Vegas trip was a great diversion from the pain at home, even the snags that hampered the beginning of the journey made looking back a little more interesting. Her pain has subsided enough for them to move forward in healing their broken marriage. Just when I believed the end of this painful tunnel was near, yet another blow was dealt to the already fissured union.

Last week the other woman received some bad news. Her son, a marine serving our country in Iraq, was injured while disarming an IED. He ultimately succumbed to his injuries. The woman is on FMLA for a month while arrangements for his burial at Arlington are being finalized. This news is painful for all of America. Another fallen hero.

As my friend struggles with yet another reminder of the event that brought her world to a crashing halt. She told me all the news reports lead with the story of his death. It seems he was a fine 23 year old young man serving his third tour in Iraq. My friend is conflicted. She feels connected to a fallen soldier she never met. Her heart breaks for the parents, even the woman who played a roll in ruining her marriage. When the news broke, her mind went into a fog. Normally her prayers are for the family of the fallen. Praying that the parents find peace and comfort from our Lord. For two days the story has loomed over her state and her home as she and her husband come to grips on how to react. She's said his death doesn't change who his mother is and what she did, however, the mother in her goes out to the adulteress. Mother to mother

I'm glad to hear your friend hasn't lost her moral footing in light of the affair. Praying for the woman and her family. It just shows who the better person is in the whole situation.
How is her husband taking the news? It must be uncomfortable at work, and home, with the news buzzing about her son. Does he also feel connected to the marine? I'm sure she must have spoke of him, being a proud mother of a marine.

All in all, children should outlive their parents, whom ever they are.

It's very sad, he was a selfless person who gave his life for his country. I don't think there's a dilema here. Your friend should feel bad for a heroic young man who will never get married, have a family and watch them grow up, or grow old himself. Tell your friend to forget that woman is even a part of this because it takes away from the real story here. I feel sorrow for this soldier, I don't care who his mother is. Hopefully your friend can move forward someday.

Thanks Care, I know she wants to move forward. It just seems every time she takes a step, there's a bump in the road.

You how patriotic she is, and her heart is always with our fighting men and woman. It's very sad when any of "Americas Finest" dies protecting this country.

Thanks for checking in Care

Jacob - We don't judge your comments because you're gay. Don't assume Jack is a Baptist.

Jack Napier, I know who you are and you should not say such things. Grow up and have a heart. This young man is innocent and was serving the country that you live in; have some decency.

nah I have a heart, It's huge. and i'm happy...very happy...I hope his mom never gets over the death of her bastard son. Right? I feel like celebrating, honestly, i hope shes in alot of pain...i do...i kinda believe in karma now. Don't ever tell me what to do, no one ever tell me what to do ever. humans die every day in abortion clinics, no one gives a shit when that happens, now when some loser who isn't smart enough to get into college, gets blown away...because hes not smart enough to dodge the bullets, and we weep now. just another number. Poop mother in my opinion, and i hope she hurts every day. honestly how much sleep do you lose over dead soldiers? I don't care what any of you think, you're all toy soldiers in a miniture dirt war anyways.

poor mother, is what i ment to say...not poop...but that works too. jerks (_)(_) <---IM MOONING YOU TOOLS. Take me serious. JUST KIDDING

Jack, if you REALLY believe in karma, you would not be saying that. Karma doesn't just go one way.

Nah Karma is retarded, all religion is, i'm not weak minded. only thing I believe in is me. So i'll say what i want to. BANG!
