Just when you begin to think the folks we elect to government office need to “be about the peoples business” someone steps up to the plate. Representative Sue Myrick (R-NC) is one of the few who actually get it.Last week Myrick called for the revocation of Jimmah’s passport saying; “Former President Carter has acted in contradiction of international agreements to isolate Hamas. He has acted in defiance of both United States policy and international policy. His actions reward terrorists, lend support, and provide legitimacy to their belief that violence will eventually get them what they want,”.
Now Rep Myrick wants America to “wake up” and is taking on CAIR. On Friday the Charlotte republican released a list of 10 items she hopes will help peel back the layers on how radical elements of islam might be infiltrating the military, school rooms and other elements of society.
Among her goals is to investigate muslim military and prison chaplains who were approved by a man now in prison for funding terrorism, and examine the nonprofit status of an organization partially funded by Saudis. That group, the Council on American-Islamic Relations, says her assumptions are wrong and agendas like hers move muslim bashing into the mainstream.
Myrick's 10-point plan includes:
Investigate all military chaplains endorsed by Abdurahman Alamoudi, who was imprisoned for funding a terrorist organization.
Investigate all prison chaplains endorsed by Alamoudi.
Investigate the selection process of Arabic translators working for the Pentagon and the FBI.
Examine the nonprofit status of the Council on American-Islamic Relations.
Make it an act of sedition or solicitation of treason to preach or publish materials that call for the deaths of Americans.
Audit sovereign wealth funds in the United States.
Cancel scholarship student visa program with Saudi Arabia until they reform their textbooks, which she claims preach hatred and violence against non-Muslims.
Restrict religious visas for imams who come from countries that don't allow reciprocal visits by non-Muslim clergy.
Cancel contracts to train Saudi police and security in U.S. counterterrorism tactics.
Block the sale of sensitive military munitions to Saudi Arabia.
It sounds to me like Myrick is on to something, it's to bad her liberal counterparts will shout her down and send the proposal to the trash bin.
