For the last 2 weeks or so I’ve been ignoring the CAIR whine-o-grams, so today I’m going to do some CAIR speed-linking. So let's buckle-up those seat belts and replace your tray-tables to the up-right position;
- US muslims & CAIR among first to congratulate President-Elect Obama
- CAIR congratulates first muslim woman elected to the Michigan State Legislature, Rashida Tlaib
- Post election survey shows 89% of muslims voted for Obama, muslims voted overwhelmingly democrat
- Maryland mosque hit by paintballs, CAIR ask police to investigate if bias was involved
- NY muslim beaten by gang shouting “Obama”, CAIR calls on FBI to investigate incident as a hate-crime
- CAIR asks DHS to explain 2004 “profiling” of muslims
- CAIR releases “The Status of Muslim Civil Rights in the United States” report
- Action Alert 552; CAIR urges muslims to vote in record numbers
- AMT (American muslim taskforce) voting scorecard, civic participation handbook and CAIR’s election site

Hmm... Let me guess (I haven't looked yet). The status of Muslim civil rights report will say that Muslims are in sad shape and they can't get a break from anybody. They'll ignore the fact that a Muslim woman just got elected to the Michigan legislature and the son of a Muslim just got elected to the presidency. Because what really matters is that somebody shot paintballs at their building, and the next thing you know, all Muslims will be chained up and herded off to reservations in Florida swampland.
OK. I'll go read it now and see how close I am.
Interesting. After detailing all the various ways Muslims are being discriminated against (some are horrible attacks, and some are petty), the report concludes with a quote by a Christian pastor saying what a swell organization CAIR is.
So I looked up the pastor, Warren Clark of Tampa, FL. He pastors a United Church of Christ, one of the way-liberal denominations. This church has signed onto the Earth Charter, which works for global (not national) citizenship, environmentalism, social justice, nonviolence, and my favorite: "Promote the equitable distribution of wealth within nations and among nations." And they think the Bible should be taken seriously but not literally. Okaaaayyy.
CAIR's conclusion is that things aren't as bad as they've been, and re-education of the masses is the best approach for making our country more Muslim-friendly (my words, not theirs).
My understanding is that in the Muslim world, you "are" your "roots."
This means that since Obama's dad was Muslim, then Obama is "one of them."
But then he converted to Christianity which makes him an apostate...
I'm getting a headache.
You're correct Skye, Clark has been a long time CAIR supporter. He's come out to in support of many of their causes rendering his ministry noting more than a CAIR puppet.
Chris, I gave up trying to get others to understand that FACT. I don't claim to know his heart or if his conversion was sincere, but being born to a muslim father (unlike Jews who must be born of a Jewish mother) makes one a muslim, it's a very simple thing.
Like you Janice, I am an American first and a member of a political party - well, probably about thirteenth down the list. I too, will pray for our President and his family. Lord knows they will need it.
BTW, your speed linking reminds me just how sick these CAIR freaks make me. Thank you for delving into the bowels of their organization and revealing them for the charlatans they are. (I don't know how you do it! Ugh. You have a stronger stomach than me.)
Regarding Obama's Islamic identity. I don't get it either. Following the rules of the Muslim road, he's technically either a Muslim or he's an apostate with a big dose of Black Liberation Theology thrown in. Either thing would not be good for this country. IMO.
It makes me wonder what the Islamists and their Moderate Moslem handmaidens are thinking about all this talk about the Obama's new dog. You know that's setting some Muslim teeth on edge given the Muslim belief that dogs are unclean.
Makes me want to go give the Kafir K-9 Brigade a big kiss...
Dinah,
That's a good point about the to-be-determined Obama puppy. I've noticed his hesitation about the subject, but I'd attributed it to his not liking dogs (always a bad sign in a man). I hadn't thought of the Muslim angle. We'll have to see if the new First Dog is forced to sleep outside...
